Dan Arterburn has served on the staff of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church since 1984. He was called to serve as Minister of Music and was then later asked to serve in the role of Associate Pastor of Worship and Administration. During his tenure, the music ministry grew to minister to over 900 individuals through numerous choirs and the Hermitage Hills Arts Academy. In 2006, because of the growth of both the worship and administrative roles, he asked the church to move completely into the Associate Pastor of Administration role in February of 2007. He continues to direct the student handbell choir of our worship ministry and sings in the worship choir.
Dan has served churches in Texas and Kentucky prior to coming to Hermitage Hills. A native Kentuckian, he graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Western Kentucky University and a Master of Music from Southern Methodist University. Dan has served on the Tennessee Baptist Executive Board and has lead in the leadership of handbell festivals across the TBC. He is an active member and an assistant conductor of The Centurymen, a professional men’s choir of Baptist music leaders from across the United States and Europe.
Dan has been married to his beautiful wife, Alice, for 35 years. They have one daughter. Christine is married to Dennis Russell and they live in North Carolina.
