It’s full-speed ahead as we gear up for this year’s Winter Retreat. This action packed weekend takes place during the 2010 Winter Olympics. We will leave at 4:00 pm on Friday, February 12th and will conclude at 5:00pm on Sunday, February 14th.
G-Force, The Path to Victory is designed to prepare fifth and sixth graders for the all-important race of life. No athlete sets out to win bronze or silver. Everyone wants to win the gold! That’s not always true in life. Many Christians settle for less than the best by choosing rewards other than those from God. Our goal at this year’s winter retreat is to help students understand that the rewards that come from pleasing God are the best! Pleasing God is the gold medal of life! When “the games begin” at Horton Haven, students will have the opportunity to experience hands-on involvement as they discover the force that can give them “the winning edge” every day of the year. We will explore Biblical pacesetters as well as present-day Olympic competitors who have turned in championship performances. From each of these pacesetters, we will learn key concepts about Jesus and will be challenged to “run the race” with Him.
During this retreat, we hope to help students have a stronger desire to seek God first in their life through striving to please Him in everything they do, developing characteristics that are pleasing to Him, and putting biblical principles into practice in their everyday life. We’ll help students do this through Quiet Times, Bible Studies, Worship Celebrations, Recreation, Crafts, Fellowships, and Group Devotions.
This year’s theme verses are Proverbs 3:5-6. We will learn to “trust in the Lord” and allow Him to “direct our paths” as we practice the personal disciplines of prayer, Bible study, and worship - just to name a few. Our retreat staff will seek to share the love of Christ with each student in a way that will produce spiritual growth or introduce them for the first time to Jesus Christ.

Any registrations turned in after this date will be put on a waiting list. All forms and deposits must be turned in to be on the waiting list.
To officially register, you need the following turned into the Children’s Ministry Office not later than Sunday, January 24, 2010:

* 2009-20010Notarized Medical Release From
* Copy of current insurance card (front and back)
*Deposit of $60.00
Cost: $110.00 (includes food, lodging and all activities) $60.00 deposit is required at registration along with all paperwork.

The retreat balance of $50.00 will be due on Sunday, February 7th.
The following cancellation provisions apply:
If cancellation is received before January 25th, parent/guardian is responsible for 25% of total retreat cost.
If cancellation is received before February 1st, parent/guardian is responsible for 50% of total retreat cost.
If cancellation is received on or before February 8th, parent/guardian is responsible for 75% of total retreat cost.
If cancellation if received after February 8th, parent/guardian is responsible for 100% of total retreat
